Legendary NBA Hall of Famer Jerry West has passed away at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy that has had a profound impact on the sport of basketball.

West, affectionately known as "Mr. Clutch," played 14 seasons for the Los Angeles Lakers, where he averaged 27.0 points, 6.7 assists, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game in 932 regular-season appearances. He led the Lakers to the NBA Finals nine times, winning the championship in 1972.

Following his playing career, West transitioned into coaching and executive roles, where he continued to make significant contributions to the NBA. He served as general manager of the Lakers from 1979 to 2000, building several championship-caliber teams.

West's NBA career was marked by numerous individual accolades, including 14 All-Star selections, 10 All-NBA Team selections, and the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award in 1969. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in both 1980 as a player and 1996 as a contributor.
