Iowa Lt. Governor Adam Gregg departs from his position
Lieutenant Governor Gregg resigns
Gregg leaves position effective Tuesday
Iowa Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg will step down from his position effective Tuesday.
Gregg has served as Lieutenant Governor since 2019 and was reelected in 2022.
Gregg says he plans to announce his future plans in the next few weeks.
The Lieutenant Governor's office is responsible for overseeing the state's elections, and Gregg has been a strong advocate for voting rights.
Gregg is a Republican, and his departure from office will give Democratic Governor Kim Reynolds the opportunity to appoint a new Lieutenant Governor.
Reynolds has not yet announced who she will appoint to the position.
